WebIncoterms, or INternational COmmercial TERMS, are a set of rules that define—in a shipping contract—who is responsible for covering insurance, freight and transportation costs, as well as when these cost responsibilities and the assumption of risk shift from the buyer to the seller.They help facilitate international trade by providing common reference points. WebIncoterms define the responsibilities of both buyer and seller for the delivery of goods under sales contracts. Incoterms do not dictate ownership of goods and transfer of title! Remember: Always state the Incoterm on your invoice and purchase order! Incoterms are always cited using the three character abbreviation (i.e., CIF, CPT)
